What is an EngCafé?
Our speaker series events, EngCafés, are careers based sessions in which a top employer will give our members exclusive insights into their company and top tips for your application. Each year a number of EngCafés take place throughout term 1 ahead of application deadlines in December.
What can I expect?
Each session is 1 hour in length with an opportunity to ask questions at the end of our sessions with the guest company outlining their internship, placement and graduate opportunities followed by a careers skills workshop. These workshops cover topics from CV and interview skills, to psychometric test and assessment centre top tips. EngCafés that you attend are also eligible for PDR points (more information can be found here).
We attempt to offer resources from each EngCafé such as a video recording or presentation slides released through our members’ Microsoft Team and weekly email newsletter. However, the availability of these is at the discretion of our guest speakers so cannot be guaranteed for every EngCafé.
Past events have included Rolls Royce, Dyson, Atkins, Shell and BAE Systems so be sure to check our social media pages or see the current schedule below.
